Friends, this is what happens when you go on a road-trip and happen to go to a really extravagant estate and find the most photogenic conservatory/green house that you've ever seen.

There are 2 things I feel the need to discuss in this post: my lipstick and my shorts.
I'm always leery of lipstick, simply because of how easily it can be smudged/wiped off/transferred onto my teeth. I can never make the stuff stay on my lips all day!
But recently, I've managed to keep it away from my teeth, and evenly applied all day...practice makes perfect, I guess?
To make my lipstick struggle worse, I only have 3 colors: a pretty mauve, bright red, and bright pink. As a super pale kid, this isn't the ideal palette, but if I like the way it looks on me, then who cares what anybody else thinks?
Unless you can tell exactly what they think because everyone stares at you.
Seriously, what the heck? Why were there so many people staring at me? I don't look that weird...
My second theory on why everyone seemed to be staring at me involves me sporting my beloved mom jorts (oh yeah...they have a name).
I used to think mom jeans were gross. Why would anybody want them?
But when I dressed up as Napoleon Dynamite for Halloween and required a pair, I realized just how magical they really are. After cutting off the legs, they make the perfect shorts. I wear them all the time. I'm not sure what your stance on the mom jean/short is, but I'm so happy they're back in style and Goodwill managed to have a pair in my size.

Your lipstick looks so good! I just found my hoard of (mostly ancient) lipsticks, but there was a bright red one in there that I'm excited but also hesitant to wear - I love how it looks, until it smudges and then my lips look like they take up 80% of my face. And then the mom jean shorts...I'm also kind of obsessed with them! My mom asked if I wanted her old ones so obviously I grabbed them...not sure if I'm brave enough to wear them out of the house yet!! haha

DeleteAnd I was the same way at first. When the shorts were still jeans, I would wear them to, like, home depot or something but now they're kind of my "thing". They're actually the comfiest...
