when i picked this out, it reminded me of warmth and caramel

the colors are just so rich and it is so office friendly, even when you're just going to school ;)

so tgiwednesday...or is that just what i say?
i'm pretty much just glad that the week is mostly over...im getting me some doc martens this weekend and celebrating my dad's 50th birthday by going out to a fancy-schmancy restaurant so i am just about ready for friday.
So i am also sorry to say that i won't be posting for the next 2 days due to my lack of nice outfits. i will be in yoga pants for the next few days as midterm stress takes over and i barely have enough energy to go to school at all, let alone get dressed as i usually do...
And while i'm at it, i would like to include a few sidenotes:

Something New for 2013

So beauty goes with fashion and can even be considered a form of it!!

I generally don't wear makeup at all, but i do have some favorites:

for lip care, i use eos. My favorite is mint by far because it makes your lips feel cool! I get them at wegmans and they are around $3-$4. They are 95% organic and 100% natural
i you don't have one already, i suggest it!!! Only negative: looks weird in your pocket!!!

Next is mascara. My eyelashes are really dark at the base and are naturally long, but are blond at the ends so the seem shorter.

so i use covergirl exact eyelights for blue eyes and maybelline colossal volume. i like them both but the volume one adds a lot of volume and makes my eyelashes look really full. The covergirl one makes them fuller, but really does brighten my eyes.

the last one is the one i wear more often and that is clear mascara. I also use this to hold my eyebrows in place sometimes for  very formal events.

it doesn't really change the color of my lashes, but it makes them slightly more dark and you can see them better than when there is no makeup

i usually don't do a lot on my face. I wash it with aveeno soap, maybe concealer here and there, but foundation only happens for formal events. normally, i put some powder of rose on my face. It blends imperfections and leaves you smelling nice. The only problem for some is that its white so it makes you look more pale. I'm naturally super fair so it doesn't make a huge difference. I got it in Colonial Williamsburg.

I use Ralph Lauren perfume whenever i remember to put it on and i love it...its not too girly and sweet, but it smells feminine still. I feel like it's my scent almost and i think everyone should have a perfume that defines them...this one defines me!!

Lastly, 2 lifestyle items, not makeup.
Shark watches. All 3 of us on the twirl team have the same one! it is beyond useful and i wear it with everything. It may be pricey, but it is worth EVERY penny!!!

As you can see, the band is stained because of how much i wear it.

 and a high quality speaker for your ipod! it's small and it has unbelievable quality...i use mine 24/7

A Heart Full of Love

Hello my friends!
Merry Christmas, Happy New Years's and welcome to the new year of twirl!

I apologize for my lack of posting! Christmas and posting does not mix for me and very soon after christmas, my marching band and i flew down to new orleans and preformed in the halftime show of the sugar bowl (which, for those who are not necessarily football inclined, is like the superbowl of college football)
it was an amazing trip and i spent new years down there and missed the first 2 days of school (yay)
pictures and stories to come!!!

on another football note, ray lewis (linebacker of the ravens, #52) is playing his last home game today. he is retiring after 17 years of being an insanely loyal, inspirational, and talented linebacker. he drives the spirit of the team and was there on the very first ravens team as well as the one that won the superbowl in 2000
he has been through it all for the team and is in his last home game. My father is at the game, videotaping ray lewis' infamous entrance, the last one he will ever make. I have been to a good amount of games and he has "preformed" at every one and i have enjoyed it every time. so, ray lewis, you will be missed by not only me, but the entire city of baltimore.

on a happier note, i am back on track with posts and especially outfits. One of my resolutions is to be back on track...so be ready to read, comment, folllow, ect...

ok so for the outfit:

My brother gave me this sweater for christmas and i was so thrilled to get it!! I have been pining for this sweater since august and when it was finally on sale and in clearance, i still wasn't able to get it. So when i unwrapped it, you can imagine my happiness (thanks bro!!)
After trying it on and making sure it fit and whatnot, i was trying to pair it and i wasn't getting anywhere so i went outside the box and put it with this skirt that kind of matches and i think goes. Then i popped on a denim jacket and it really worked. The outfit is busy so i only used my handy dandy pandora bracelet with 2 charms, another christmas gift. Im wearing this to a cirque du soleil show that im going to tonight with my friend so i thought that this outfit fit the bill :)

And you're probably wondering why this title is so weird...but it's actually the title of a song in les msierables which i went and saw over break (as well as the hobbit)
I love music of les mis, let alone tis movie but the only thing i did not enjoy was the camera work. They used a handheld camera for some of the scenes so it looked super shaky, but otherwise i liked it a lot...
again, i got the music on my ipod and i have been listening to it 24/7
and coicidentally, this sweater had a heart on it so there you go :)

I think that the plainness of this outfit is what makes it nicer. The gold adds a sort of luxury as well as the satin sheen of the dress. And all of the interesting details like the empty diamond ring add a whimsy and vintage feel. and the cardigan makes it better for a dinner or a family gathering because your shoulders would be covered. I think it's perfect for a more formal christmas event.

Today, I wore this, and i would also wear it to a more formal gathering.

i generally use this dress for more dressy occasions, but for the last day before break, i thought it would look cute and festive with some red tights and used this  minnie mouse hat for inspiration!! add a matching red belt, some black flats, a cute bangle and festive earrings and cool buttons and i think that the outfit is complete!!

Look number 2 is for a family gift exchange or something like that

Another disney theme here...what's with that? O well, i  think that disney is super cute and i actually spent one of my christmases there when i was younger which was one of the best christmases ever...it was magical, if you'll believe it. I suggest it with all my might.
Anywho, this tee is super fun and it's just boyish enough, but still preppy and very innocent, perfect for a family gathering or gift exchange!...also my look on wednesday.

i love this plaid...i love just wearing it, but when i got it and saw that it had red and green, i could not wait to bring out the green and wear it for christmas. Add a thermal shirt some jeans, minimal jewels, and schoolish oxfords. Turns out, i lost the ring during gym...dropped it into the locked locker below mine by accident so i suppose ill have to look for it after break :(

Words, Words, More words, and a Pircture

11 random facts:
1) i do irish dance WITH trendy tips from polished...blowin your mind right here!!
2) i have an obsession with South Carolina...namely Charleston...and piggly wiggly (a grocery store..)
3) over break im going to see the hobbit and les miserables...the 2 that im DYING to see!!
4) i already own and have seen like 5 episodes of downton abbey season 3...and its not available in the U.S yet...wowsa!
5) i had my wishlist for christmas done and sent out probably a bit before thanksgiving
6) i just got a pintrest (see the button below), but dont have a facebook, twitter, or tumblr
7) homework will be the death of me
8) my least favorite color is tan
9) i need to replace 3 tubes of mascara...especially after reading that chemicals in mascara can turn into formaldehyde after 3 months
10) i tried to do nanowrimo...i got about 3,000 words...yup
11) i am inconsistent in planning outfits, but will do them a week in advance if im lucky 

this was another thing that i had to do for the leibster but forgot! so here! 



anyways, i apologize for being absent, but in this holiday season, busy-ness is unavoidable and the intensity of it builds up and up until christmas, when it finally sort of ends and you can relax. So for now, excitement and a full schedule await me

So tomorrow night (friday night), i will be doing a christmas post involving a mini what to wear, an inspiration, and 3 outfits from this week. im hitting 3 birds with one stone!!!

Anyways if we're still here tomorrow...end of the world anyone? i personally don't think it's true, but as a joke, i set it up as an event on the ipad and there you go!!
for the past week, i've been getting push notifications...

And lastly, like many other bloggers, i would like to pay tribute to the connecticut shooting. i cannot even fathom how something like that could even happen...the man must have been seriously mentally ill to kill children.

and speaking of shootings, someone has threatened to "shoot it up" at my school on friday. Again, i doubt it, but it just bugs me that someone would threaten that right after such a tragedy as our new england friends suffered...

So because of my posting lag, here is a photo and just remember that my big holiday posts are coming soon!!

this lightbulb sort of represents hope. We need to put this hope and light back into the families' lives that lost their young children right before christmas.
